Caplenor, this one-of-a-kind pet facility is made for your little prince or princess.
And there is no better caretaker for your pet than Karen, a true animal lover at heart. Karen worked under the direction of local Veterinarian, Perry Harmon and also volunteered at New Leash on Life, before deciding to start her own business.
Safety, cleanliness and security are her motto. “We work very hard everyday to provide impeccable quality care for the animals. My staff and I truly love all these little fur balls that come in. Attention to both the pets and the owners is our top priority. We have strict policies about flea preventive and vaccinations for every animal. I not only want your animal to be loved and played with in our care, but I want him to go home healthy.”
Houndstooth Grooming & Couture offers every possible service available for your pampered pooch. Dog grooming, Dog Boarding, and Doggy Day Care are offered on a daily basis.
The retail lobby is filled with doggy essentials, kitty items and Bakery Treats. The store also offers premium dog and cat food lines that do not contain corn fillers, byproducts, dyes or colors. “I don’t feed unhealthy products to my own animals and I want to offer premium food products to other owners as well,” says Karen.
Karen and her husband, Jere, a native of the area, live on a farm in Lebanon, where they have 6 horses, 4 drop off dogs, 3 shelter dogs and a foster dog. They also have 3 rescue cats. “Our animals are a big part of our lives and we feel like we are living our dream,” notes Karen who grew up in the city and always wanted to have open spaces and animals. “I am so excited about my business because I am doing something that I love to do on a daily basis.”
And Karen is not alone in her enthusiasm; her staff, consisting of Marci Collins and Jennifer Watson, has been in the grooming business for several years. Come into the store on any day and you will see these lovely ladies scooping up the little dogs to love on and saving the bear hugs for the bigger pooches.

Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed Sunday and all Major Holidays but boarding is available during these times.
