Michelle Ridling to wed Joey Max Gourley
Joey Max Gourley and Patricia Michelle Ridling will marry in front of family and friends as the sun sets on the twenty-second day of May, 2010 at Evins Mill Inn in Smithville, Tennessee.
Joey is the son of Sheri and Danny Woodard of Lebanon, Tennessee and Jim Gourley of Smyrna, Tennessee. Joey’s grandparents, Max and Ann Smith, are long time residents of Lebanon.
Michelle Ridling is the daughter of Pat and Wayne Ridling of Memphis, Tennessee. Pat and Wayne moved to Lebanon about fifteen years ago when Pat took a job as Director of Surgery for Summit Hospital in Hermitage.
Michelle graduated from Harding Academy in Memphis, Tennessee in 1991. She later attended University of Memphis before moving to Lebanon and attending Cumberland University. She has a 13 year old son, Kyle, who is the light of her life. Joey and Michelle met while they both were working at Chili’s restaurant in Lebanon. They became fast friends and dated until Joey moved to Florida.
As luck would have it though, Joey moved back in February 2009 and transferred back to the Chili’s in Lebanon. Michelle couldn’t believe it when she saw him standing in the kitchen at work after all those years. It was as if God had answered her prayers. They went out after work and talked the night away and have been inseparable ever since.
Joey proposed to Michelle on July 4th, 2009. He was working that night and Michelle, his mom, and brother stopped in for a bite to eat. Joey was their waiter. After everyone ordered, Joey brought out some chips and salsa. There were two salsa bowls, one with salsa and the other had an engagement ring in it!! Michelle was speechless and then Joey proposed. She said yes! And then everyone in the restaurant started clapping and yelling. They sealed the deal with a kiss. It was perfect, or as Michelle says, “it was a Joey thing.”
